While working on the MidWest Weavers project, I saw I was about to run out of the conference yarn so I pulled out the trusty ball winder and wound me a ball. It's the brown ball shown here.
Since I had the ball winder out, I thought I would check and see if I had any more skeins that needed to be wound into balls. Well, I found a few. All this is sock yarn that I dyed back in September 2012.
Now not only do I have a secret project I am knitting, I have four more balls of sock yarn to work up too. I wonder if this will be a long cold winter. If so, I will be all set.
Believe it or not, all this yarn is mostly alpaca. The brown was 'grown' in Kansas and the white that I dyed was 'grown' in Rogersville, Missouri. Both yarns have Merino wool blended in, but the sock yarn has some silk too. Yummy!
