A Labor Of Weaving Love

One of the projects that the Weaving Divas worked on this past year (and a bit more) was a felted purse. Each member took it home and added something. Even the inside lining was hand dyed. So when it was finished, we as a group decided that our Marilynn should have it. She is the glue that holds us together! We presented it to her at our 7th annual Christmas Party.

Weaving Friends

One good thing about being a weaver is seeing ......or better yet.... having another give you one of their creations. Today I have Kay and Katie helping me out in the kitchen. Handwoven towels can not be beat!!!!

Now if I just knew what to fix for lunch!

Words of Thanks

Flowers to cheer me up! Thanks Becky!!

My Redbud Tree in bloom. Ahhhh!
Thanks to all my weaving friends near and far for their wishes, cards, emails, flowers, books and a tree! Some of you I have never met in person, while others I see once or twice a month. You all have one thing in common....... your generosity, kindness and friendship.

New Fiber Shop

My friend opened her Blackwater Fiber Arts Gallery in Blackwater, Missouri, May 11th.

I can tell it might be a place you would want to go to often. She has sock yarn and weaving supplies, looms for sale, spinning supplies and wheels, and will even have classes: knitting, weaving, crochet, hooking.......I might even teach a weaving class or two in the future. Maybe overshot or tied weaves? The fun has just started!

Hand Woven Treasures

I have begun to wind a warp for another Weaver Rose draft. But, since it calls for over 600 ends, I will try to catch up on a few UFP's (un-finished projects) between winding. And yes, I am winding one thread at a time! My choice. It's a Zen thing!!

I was fixing breakfast and thought how, as a weaver, I have lots of items for my home. And several items are from my weaving friends. Here is just a very small sample of some hand woven items that make my world a little brighter. Thanks girls!!!!!!

Becky and Barbara kitchen towels.

Placemat from Gayle.

Pillow from Tomi.

Woven felted pot holder from Dawn.
