Another Rug - Blue Jeans

This is a blue-jean rug that was given to me as a gift from my students at Arrow Rock Weaving Guild this past February. Shows to go you that there is a real folk art to weaving these rag rugs.

A lot of work went into getting the jeans ready to even be woven let alone the actual setting up the loom and weaving. I proudly display this in my kitchen.

I like the student rug's structure! The warp looks like its set up as red and white stripes. But how does it pass over the weftalternating red and white in the red rows of warp and blue and white in the white rows of warp?
Help, please.

This was a gift, but I think they have threaded the warp white-red-white-red across the whole warp... Then used the treadles to lift odd vs even shafts..They might have threaded 1-2-1-2(2X) then 3-4-3-4(2X) across. Just a guess.

I haven't done very many rugs myself. That is why this was such a welcomed gift.
