Making bookmarks is a great way to try out different weave structures, colorways, even different fibers. I enjoy designing at the loom, and some times that gets me in trouble. Here is a photo of some of the 'what was I thinking' bookmarks! We have overshot, plain weave, summer and winter, even a woven shibori thrown in.
But I am also a person who hates to throw away anything. So I keep those bookmarks that are too short, fringe cut crocked, colors are terrible, treadling error, too wide, treadling was just plain ugly..... They are a resource I look at so I don't do it again. But I do keep making errors. So this is what I do with those that are nice, but just can't make it as a bookmark.
